Ask yourself these 3 questions:
1. Have you experienced a change in behavior, circumstances, mood or other life concern?
2. Have you noticed areas in your life are impacted by your concerns? For example, your job, relationships, or overall well being
3. Are the solutions you used to have to help not working?
If you answered yes, than counseling would probably be beneficial for you.
In addition to being an effective treatment for many mental health concerns like depression and anxiety, counseling can help you meet your personal goals. Meeting with a licensed counselor can help you think about your concerns in a new way, brainstorm new solutions to your problems, and help you cope with your experiences. Your counselor may help you learn tools and strategies that improve your ability to manage stress and decrease your negative symptoms. Talking over your history in counseling may help you make sense of your past, process old wounds, and move forward with confidence.
Imagine that you are training for a marathon (like life!) and you get hurt emotionally.
Counseling helps with the healing of the emotions.
The coaching helps you set the goals and move forward past the injury.
I utilize a mixture of both in my practice. No one wants to stay stuck in the past, and when we have the proper tools we can move forward.
Additionally, I utilize a lot of energy work to have your mind and body work together.
Please call Julie for a free consultation where payment options are discussed.
The investment in counseling can feel overwhelming, but our goal is to get you living the life you want without drawn out sessions.
Acceptable forms of payment include cash (please bring correct change) and credit/debit cards. I can also accept your HSA or Health Savings cards.
I also encourage you to talk with your employer about options for coaching and counseling.
Clients work with me for 3-6 months or longer.
When you schedule a call with me we talk about your problem, where you want to be, and I outline a path for you. I will then let you know about how long you can expect to see results.
While many clients see results within 90 days, they like having a support for them as the changes impact other areas of their life.
I do not accept insurance, nor am I on any insurance panels. I can create a superbill that you can use to file with your insurance to meet your deductible.
There are several ways you can set up an appointment and you can choose the way that is easiest for you:

When we meet for our first session, my two primary goals are to introduce you to the counseling process and get to know you. We will go over your intake paperwork together, and I will do my best to answer any questions you may have about our work. I will ask about your personal history and the experiences you have had that led you to seek counseling at this time. Together, we will discuss your goals for counseling and create a plan for you to meet them. In order to make the most of your first session, I recommend e-mailing your paperwork to me before our first session or arriving early with the completed forms.
Absolutely! Confidentiality is a key component of the counseling relationship, allowing you a safe place to work through personal issues. Your right to confidentiality will be carefully maintained and will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in cases of possible harm to yourself or others (especially children or the elderly) or a criminal court subpoena.
Please note that in couples counseling I do not agree to keep secrets. Information revealed in any context may be discussed with either partner.
