Welcome to Insight Counseling. First off, why Centre instead of Center like most people would use? When I was considering naming my practice, I wanted something different and memorable. While Counseling is an Insight into how we view our life, relationship and surroundings, sometimes our Insight can be skewed. Often times we take ourselves too seriously and try to correct something that feels wrong or off about ourselves. How many of you want to correct Centre in my logo? How often might it get overlooked because it looks wrong? Embracing our differences, like Centre, helps us to recognize that not everything has to be perfect or uniform. Unlike spell check wants to say, Centre is spelled correctly, in England.
A book
I recommend to start on this journey is "The gifts of Imperfections: Let go of who you think you're supposed to be and embrace who you are." By Brene Brown. In this book, Dr. Brown comments on our need to be perfect and how this perfection drives our feelings of inadequacies. How do your perceptions of your inadequacies stop you from living the life you truly want?
I challenge you to find the things that make you, you. Instead of looking at everything as wrong or a problem that needs to be fixed, why not consider the possibilities of how those differences make us unique. I have a quote in my office that states, "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be Beautiful." While it can seem difficult, find the beauty in your life. Find your Centre.
The purpose of this blog will be to share some insights and tips that we can all use in our day to day life and relationships. Please feel free to message me if there is a specific topic you would like addressed. Also, set up an appointment with me where I can help give you Insight into your Centre.
